Hackathons 🚀

Hey neighbors!

This Sunday, we'll be having our fourth hack day at our usual location, but an hour later as to avoid the brunch rush! Come be productive with some good ☕️ and 🥯.

At our last hack day (and since then), our members got the Location Wishlist app very close to v1. So this time, we'll be tying up the remaining few features. Just in time for a release at our next monthly meetup!

And of course, you're welcome to come and work on your own personal projects, too.

AGENDA: Vacant Location Wishlist

Thanks to the work of our members, only two key tasks remain:

• Upload an image along with a location submission (the view is mostly done)
• Finalize the URL generation scheme for live locations

And next week at the monthly meetup, we will officially launch the app, along with some printed QR codes!

This time, our focus will be on completing v1.0 of our Vacant Location Wishlist app (see details below). We welcome new volunteers to come and jump right into the codebase. We'll catch you up.

And of course, you're welcome to come and work on your own personal projects, too!

The Vue.js frontend and node.js backend are structured and mostly completed, but some key features still need to be implemented:

• integrate the frontend with the backend
• embed a map (Google Maps) on each location page
• add a location submission page (with a required picture)
• add an admin page to accept new location submissions

If all goes well, we'll be able to bring in some example live QR codes to the meetup next week. Good luck to us. 🌈

It's also a chance for us to catch up and collaborate. Feel free to come even if you aren't sure what you'd like to work on, we can catch you up on our existing projects.

So bring your JS, Golang, Python, or any other skills and help create some useful apps for our neighborhood.

And of course, feel free to bring friends!
